Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri has been a popular Indian actress, who gained recognition for her performance in Hum Aapke Hain Koun as well as Beta Saajan. In the 1980s the actress began her acting career and became well-known for the character Tezaab which she played alongside veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Her next role was in Dil in which she starred alongside Aamir. In her early years her Mumbai-born dancer started studying at a very early age. When she was young when she began to act, she was not successful as a lot of her films were flops. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and went on to be one of the top actresses within the Indian film business. After her marriage was over, she took a few months to rest from her acting career before returning. She was recently a key player in Gulaab Gang about Indian women. Dixit was nominated 15 times to win Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of them. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit. It is India's fourth highest civil honor. She is known for her social works as well.
